Disable ANSI / Edit Account Settings ?

Post by syntax »

So I was trying to setup goslink today (really I just want the mudbot part of it and I liked the idea of not having to use megamud to do it so I figured I'd try it out). However, I couldn't get ANSI to turn off. I can do "=a" but that only takes effect for the one session. I think I can edit an account through the old console window, but recently had to disable that. When I go to account options (via A -> A in menu), I don't have any option to disable ANSI. This is probably something I did in the config because I disabled RIP and made it so people didn't have to deal with all the ANSI and language questions when signing up and just defaulted ANSI to on. So I assume now it's not displaying the options.

Long story short, my questions is... Is there a way to edit an account and its settings (specifically the ANSI settings) without the old console? I don't see any way to do it via the remote sysop menu. I'm going to setup a second server copying in the backup from this one and start undoing shit to see what makes the option come back, if it does at all.

No but I could look into doing that. The ansi off is mainly to make the login and getting into the game cleaner and easier. Telnet such a dirty protocol. I'm finding each board is different with what kinda background noise I get.

With that being said you can try to use it with ansi on. It's just harder to get the right strings to set for your login menu.
