editing monsters in rooms
I am about to try to make new giant war dog pens in the Hill Giant Fortress for rooming, but I'm unsure of a few of the room options for monsters. I think I understand that Max Index and Min Index establish the range of monsters in a Monster Group to regen, Max Regen is what it sounds like, Delay is the regen time in minutes, and Room Type should be set to Lair for any room that you want to script with monsters in it. I don't know what Control Room and Max Area are for, however. I want to make kind of big pens, too, with about 20 rooms that regen 10 dogs each. Will that be a problem?
Re: editing monsters in rooms
control room can be used to populate an area easily.
max area works with control room to set the max number of enemies in the area.
lets take your new giant war dog pens for example...
lets also assume it is comprised of 20 rooms ranging from room #1000 to #1020.
instead of going into each individual room and setting all of the monster values, all you need to do is set room #1000 the way you want it, then in room # 1001 - 1020 set the control room to #1000 where you have your values set up.
i think you still need to set which rooms will be lairs, but it has been a while since i've made new areas.
hope this helps.

Re: editing monsters in rooms
I do not believe msdss's answer was entirely correct-- the control room is essentially the room where you can set the max number of monsters for the entire room--- but for example if you set a min index and max index in that room it is not going to apply to other rooms of the same. I believe things like the death room (maybe) and the max monsters for the whole "Area" are defined. I'd have to open NMR to look at the exact fields to be more specific... But if you want to pop in to my realm some time I'm usually around evenings.... esoteric-edits.crabdance.com
