Come september first I want to sweep the grounds of items. the following needs to be done per the text notes:

5.2) Remove Items from all rooms

The 'remove items from all rooms' command will remove the following
from the game:

* all visible currency
* all hidden currency
* all visible non-limited items
* all hidden non-limited items

There is *NO* way to undo this command once you have executed it. We
STRONGLY recommend that you give your users several days warning prior
to executing this command to avoid user complaints about lost items
which they had stored on the ground. After you have run this option, you
must start your BBS and run the REINDEX LIMITED ITEMS command from the
sysop menu.

My question is what will the reindex from the sysop menu exactly do? Cleanup limiteds off the ground?

i would not do a reindex that is mostly for limited items you be better off running a room sweep from offline utilities

The reindex from the sysop menu is basically the offline recovery mode... it should be obselete in most recent versions and will say so when you type in "rf"... its the same as using the "sys reset" command in the game...
