I decided to go back into my archive and get my old board up and running again. It has been a bit tricky due to running a 64-bit version of windows 7. I did find a workaround to install everything. I am having an issue though when I entered the registration code for Worldgorup. No matter how many times in uninstall and reinstall, then enter my registration, I can't seem to get the software to get out of demonstration mode. If i attempt to put an incorrect reg number in there, then the server doesn't even load. Ive gone to the security and accounting feature and made sure that the ACTCOD Server Activation Code matches, still not out of demo.
Im not sure where to go from here, any suggestions or hints on this?
WG demo mode
Re: WG demo mode
I too am having the exact same problem. I've tried on one computer running both WinXP and Win2k and then on a 2nd computer running Win7. They all behave the same way. Same registration number and authorization code. WG upgrades from a 6 user to 256 user version correctly, but stays in DEMO mode.
Did you ever find a solution to this or does someone else have some advice?

Re: WG demo mode
i replied directly to this individual regarding this, but i figure ill share what i did here also:
The torrent download and necro's download to install WG both are installing with an incorrect REG# that the keygen doesnt fully work with. Even COMPLETELY uninstalling and re-installing or installing to VM didnt fix it. There is another location i got ahold of with the original install CD for WG which started it with a different reg#.
The bad reg# i got was 39574913 to which the code J9Y1L-7NCZ8TF-A48JAP8X didnt actually work. Not sure if your install did the same thing as mine did, but i know this worked for me

Re: WG demo mode
I did some more digging and was able to confirm the bad reg#. To work around this issue I did the following:
open galgsbl.DLL in a hex editor
search for 'reg#'
change the registration number to something other than 39574913
regen key for the new registration number

Not sure if it is an issue with the install file. As I use the one thats on my site, and never had this issue. Though I do install on 32 bit then move everything to a 64bit win7
