Megamud settings & gamedata dialog boxes aren't opening up fully
Megamud settings & gamedata dialog boxes aren't opening up fully
Installing Megamud on Asus Vivobook with Windows 11. Both settings and game data pop up dialog boxes are too small with no ability to scroll or expand to see the far righthand options, i.e., Scan in Paths tab. The font in the app seems very bold and large in size as well. Never seen this before.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Sounds like a scaling issue. What is your display scaling (zoom level) set to? Could try turning on a compatibility mode for the exe.
Re: Megamud settings & gamedata dialog boxes aren't opening up fully
Thanks for the response. The display zoom settings on the pc are set to default (@150% - windows recommends not messing around with it) I had Megamud running normally but I had to reset the PC to get the paths fixed and now mega installs and is just blown out.syntax wrote: Fri May 02, 2025 10:05 am Pictures are worth a thousand words. Re: Megamud settings & gamedata dialog boxes aren't opening up fully
Was the first pic taken previously or did you change display scaling to capture that?
Definitely seems like windows is scaling the internal listview control there to 150% while leaving the rest of it. You shouldn't have to do this, but as a test, try changing the compatibility settings on the executable to Windows XP or Windows 7. Could also try to force the DPI setting by clicking the "change high dpi settings" on that same compatibility tab and then choosing the bottom option to override dpi scaling with "application" chosen.

First pic is my brothers screen, showing what the game data window should look like (not blown out and cut off as it is on my laptop photo in the 2nd). I'm not very good on a PC in fact I only purchased this PC to play mud. I'm an apple guy normally. I will attempt your troubleshoots and see what happens. Thanks for the responses and notes.syntax wrote: Fri May 02, 2025 11:46 am Was the first pic taken previously or did you change display scaling to capture that?

Re: Megamud settings & gamedata dialog boxes aren't opening up fully
Attempted both of those suggestions to no avail. I can't believe I bought this silly PC to play mud and can't figure out how to get it to work. Unreal. Never had this issue of difficulty before. I also initially had mega running and mmudexplorer and played for a week but the winterhawks paths were so jacked I decided to reboot to fix it and install as memtioned in the setting up mega and paths walkthrough on this forum.syntax wrote: Fri May 02, 2025 11:46 am Was the first pic taken previously or did you change display scaling to capture that?

Do you have an external monitor hooked up?

I actually connected my laptop to an external monitor but it doesn't matter because the game data/settings pop ups are broken and not showing all of the options (cut off) and there's no way to expand or scroll to the additional information in those pop ups that are cut off. I've reset this PC 10X to original, scrubbing it to no avail.
If there's a skilled PC person who thinks they can solve it I'll pay $200 bucks for you to remote in to it and solve it.
