Re: Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?
Yeah using the way back machine I can access the text, but all the files it links too are dead.
Re: Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?
Oye... I just happen to follow a link to a google archive and all of the Johan files were accessible. I only used it to download 1.11b but I'll see if I can dig up some linkage and send our way.BearFather wrote:Yeah using the way back machine I can access the text, but all the files it links too are dead.

Re: Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?
I wonder why you wanted to do that?
It might be available but you'd need to emulate a Windows XP virtually or WIn1995?

It is a labor of love I guess you could say... we settled on 1.11b for the RetroMUD realm; retro.classicmud.comhenry3215 wrote:I wonder why you wanted to do that?

Re: Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?
I've added MajorMUD 1.0 release 5 to the file area on the site. It's the earliest version I've ever seen. I'd love to see a real Beta version of MMUD. Someone has to still have a copy of pre 1.0...
Also, BearFeather - If you have questions about DMA servers and MMUD... I have answers. Feel free to ask away. I've setup 1 version of MMUD from "Mod 0" up to Mod 9, all accessible from one BBS, using DMA servers. It takes 1 main WG NT "client" BBS (running mods 6 - 9), and three MBBS DMA servers running 2 versions of MMUD each (mod 0 and 5, mod 1 and 4, mod 2 and 3) to make it work. But it does work. It's a convoluted nightmare to wrap your head around, but it does work. And you will need to use keygens and cracks to make it all work, since most of the stuff can't really be purchased anymore. Setting up 1 DMA server really isn't too bad.
MiOw - I sent you a PM with some info on getting 1.0 release 5 or 1.0y up and running. 1.11b is still only going as far back as Mod 7, unless you meant 1.1b which is also "mod 0"?

Re: Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?
YES YES YES I want to setup a DMA server badly! If you could drop me an email or message on here I would be over joyed. I tried to get it to work but failed on keygens I believe. Made my day, so much I want to make but my WG is at it's limit with 2 massive realms and 1 stock. And I want door games. Also my email is my username @gmail.com
