The state of the game has nothing to do with the OP's behavior, which is what they are concerned about. It would have been polite to ask the Sysops if he could advertize on their boards before doing so - some of them may have agreed, if they were asked beforehand. They would probably want to get to know you a little bit first though.
And the thing is, some of them would have said no. The nice thing about being the Sysop of your own realm is you don't have to put up with things if you don't want to.

I think I'm going to advertise for him, just to ruffle feathers. Some people need to find other hobbies. Getting butthurt over MajorMUD is a waste of time/energy.

This whole argument is utterly ridiculous, and makes no sense. You host a BBS, which you publicly advertise, and are surprised when someone logs on to post an advertisement to their own public game? Last time I checked, 95% of Majormudder's are script bots anyways, and probably won't even see the stupid announcement anyways. And, if they do, the glorious thing about this paleolithic game is that you can have MULTIPLE WINDOWS PLAYING THE SAME FUCKING GAME.
This can't possibly mean that not only can you hold on to your precious "users" auto-roaming around your 3000th reboot of the same content, minus a couple edits to a very limited concept, they can do the same at the next game too! If this was back in dial-up days, when you actually profited from the game and paid to obtain the game, I could understand the argument. But, then again, that was when the game actually had a fair sized user base. Just be overly happy that there are 10 people still alive who even play the game, and choose to have one of their 50 megamud's dedicated to your bandwidth.
Oh, and the person who compared this to someone yelling in Home Depot about their new hardware store, your point couldn't be farther from the mark. It would be more like someone coming into a Home Depot and yelling that they too had a Home Depot opening up, and it would be in the same fucking store, and you could still proceed to patron the current Home Depot you were in, and spend the exact same time and money at your Home Depot, at no fucking cost or expense to the current Home Depot you pay homage to. Once again, if you disagree with what I post, you're beyond stupid.

I don't care if my players play on other boards. The way the realms are people move about. I would have said go ahead if I was asked. Just rude you login drop your ad and then leave.
