Myself and my whole gang were sys lighted, and jailed, and summarily banned from this board this morning because one member.. Velocity/Gynadia kept complaining that we were "all dupes" and because some of our gang members serve on active duty military and use Amazon Web Services to connect to the board. So I just wanted to say thanks to the Sysop for being so fair and banning our entire gang, none of which were dupes aside from the maximum of two, and so therefore many thanks for the Sysop for having such impartiality and fairness in his rash decision (whatever it was based on).

i totally agree i am in the navy and i serve in japan my 2 were dragoric and bru, its kinda f-ed up that you would ban an entire gang with out asking the gang to confirm that they are not all dupes

Nope, can't be him cuz I'm the one person who actually knows who sysop is and how to message him. I messaged him early yesterday as soon as I realized the board was down and didn't hear back from him until this morning. He said he's busy and will try to get to it tonight. No clue what is going on with the seemingly random bannings, but everyone that I've heard so far that has been banned, I can personally attest that they are not dupes.

Yeah. Doesn't really matter who he is. What matters is, random users seem to have been sys lighted and jailed in sysop jail -- for NO reason. Seemingly because one whiny, ignorant person was making baseless accusations based upon NO facts but rather his own lame opinion, and because some people use AWS boxes for personal reasons. It's actually very common for mudders to use AWS for a variety of reasons ... try near 100% uptime, for one. And not utilizing PC resources for scripting for another. I know a dozen people who do... and they're not all 1 person duping 100 chars on 20 different boards. What happened was unacceptable and it's really pedantic, and telling, as to the character (or lack thereof) of the people involved.

If you think our entire gang is dupes, what's your proof? We're all live at different times. And at least 50% of the board has side bar telepath conversations with members of our gang. What is really pretty childish and disconcerting is that whoever decided to make this decision based it on, *seemingly*, one complaint and a misinformed analysis of IPs connecting to the system. That would be my supposition based on what happened. And THAT, is not any kind of way to make an inquiry or to make a decision to ban and terminate accounts for INDIVIDUAL people who have spent several MONTHS developing those characters on a public game server. If there was a code of ethics for this community, that would go against it.

I've never seen anyone actually complain. I've seen lots of trolling comments like "dupes" when folks log on but that's just banter. Granted, you don't see that as much on nonpvp boards but hey, it makes things more interesting, it's fun having competition. As I said before, everyone that I've heard has been banned, I can personally vouch for. Y'all may laugh about me being friends with everyone, but it's true, I talk to everyone and I can tell their personalities apart. But really, the banning to me is a secondary issue. First, we gotta get the board back up, then we can sort out what's going on with the bans and suspensions. PLEASE let the board come back up soon! lol
