Unable to hide users from the topten

Post by msdss »

I'm in game.
The player name is Krin. (for example)
I type "sys god krin disable topten"
Nothing happens. There is no feedback or error message.
The player remains in the top 10, There is no change.

It's not just this player, any player. I can't hide anyone.
Even after time has passed and cleanup has run and the server has been restarted several times.
I've tried different syntax, different capitalization. I can't get anything to work.

Any ideas? Is this broken in 1.11p?

I have a high level character that I'm using to run around and do stuff with edits.
I don't want to take up a spot on the top 10, thats for actual players not edited guys.

update: i tried using a different account to run the disable command. then i forced a full cleanup after the fact. The character did hide from the top 10, but the moment he got a point of exp he was added to it again.

I've tried hiding the sysop account character.
I've tried hiding characters with wccsysop, wccgameop.
I've tried hiding just regular players that have just the basic DEMO/NORMAL keys.
No matter what I try, they only stay hidden until they get exp. Then they come right back.

It is a bit frustrating.

Once you gain experience you will show up on top lists. Just max out on experience for your level by getting experience for 17 levels higher than you are or what ever you have the levels beyond training set to. This will get you the you have progressed too far without training message and you will stay invisible.

Is this how it's always worked? When I ran a BBS back in the late 90's it was a permanent change I thought????

Is there any other way to stay off the top list?
Maybe making yourself invisible in the who list also hides you in the top 10?

If there isn't a way to do it then i'll just nuke my edited guy. I don't need EXP to run around the game.

I tried to follow the suggestion and set the character to cap EXP so that he would never be able to earn EXP and as a result be placed back on to the top list.

Unfortunately this also didn't work. For whatever reason after about 20 minutes he was put right back on the top list.

this command seems broken.

Pretty sure it has always been this way. I feel like I recall being able to set the exp to max and thus preventing any exp gain. This also fixes the number 1 user reroll bug as this character will always been #1 on the top ten (though hidden).
