Greater MUD Reset

Greetings mudders.

Greater MUD is due to reset again. PVP on 9/17 and PVE on 10/1.

It's the dawn of a new era for GreaterMUD. We're transitioning to an updated code base and new servers. Any old accounts will need to be recreated.

The guys have been hard at work. 8000+ new rooms, hundreds of new mobs, items, and quests. Complete release notes to follow.

We're currently enjoying a bit of a soft launch to test out new servers and new code base. Feel free to come in, get an account set up, and pal around for a few days before the LIVE resets kick in.

PVE: Option 1 (will run through 9/30)
PVP: Option 2 (will run through 9/16)

The greatermud.com DNS will be switched to the new servers on 9/16, the day before the PVP reset.

Greetings mudders.
Any old accounts will need to be recreated.

Rhalin was able to get all the old account data moved to the new server, so if you have an old account you should still be able to use it to log in. If necessary you may just create a new account instead. All bans remain in effect.

Production realms are currently tagged in the menu with their reset date and times:
PVP - 9/17 @ Noon EST
PVE - 10/1 @ Noon EST
Once reset, each realm will be tagged with a "Last Reset" date.

Temporary realms will run until shortly before reset time in order for you to get MegaMUDs set up and fine tuned.

The GreaterMUD forums are up in a limited, read-only capacity as a resource for reset information and downloads. Forum logins will not work for now. Here are a few shortcuts:

DNS hasn't propegatted yet, reset for PVP is still noon today, but you'll need to use the IP.

DNS has propagated and PVP is up and running! come join the massacre.

Also, PVE reset has been delayed to 10/8 due to the pending Hurricane situation.
