btrieve open error 20

I can't start up my board now because it keeps giving me "open error 20" errors on a bunch of different files. I made some changes in General Setup but I don't think I could have done anything to cause this. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Any help would be appreciated.

This at the bottom has all the btrieve errors listed. Now what to do from there well I'm not sure. How did you edit the info? Can you change it back?

Goggling "Status 20 - Record Manager Inactive" gave me several issues pages that might help.

I will do some searches on status 20 - record manager inactive and see about changing the data back. Hopefully I can get this fixed. Thank you for all your help!

what did you edit to get the error
you might try running offline util and do a restore file integretity
if all fails save the mmud dat files and reinstall whole thing

I don't think it was anything I did in the general setup tool. I wonder if it is because I installed worldgroup, installed megamud, and then had activation problems with worldgroup so I changed my registry number to get it activated. The Majormud activation code is still using my old worldgroup registry number, so that might be the cause of the error.

I will do a reinstall of worldgroup, get it properly activated, and then do the install of majormud using the right activation key and see how it goes.

It help's to have a zip of the fresh installed bbs. I have 3 stats of my starting zips. 1: fresh install of WG, 2: fresh install of mud, 3: fresh install of the bbs and mud configured to my board setup.

That way if I destroy something I can go as far as nuking the VM and just dropping in #3 and a backup of mud and I'm off and running.
