Trying this thread first since the problem is similar / may be related.

I have 256 user WG everything works
MajorMUD functions but only as 4 user.

I've tried hex editing the reg - changing a single number, multiple numbers - and updating WCCMUD in Security etc
I've tried the reg for MMUD as 254,255,and 256 since I saw that help some people - still 4 users for me.
Tried full fresh install from scratch still 4 users.
I do have the lines set to 255 in hardware also btw,

Is there some setting somewhere I might be missing that could cause this? Or any ideas I might have missed up there?
-Thanks

What do you mean hex editing the registration? Are you using a real/keygen'd registration code?

Thanks for reply Bloodrock
Win 2000 VM
I have tried that as posted previously in the thread - I saw some people had success just swapping the first digit, which I tried first and did not work, so I also tried changing multiple digits in the reg# - It always stays at 4 users

For clarity I started with original key for WG which was not 39574913 - but when it only allowed 4 users in MMUD (keygen for this) I then used hex editor on galgsbl.dll to try diff reg#s - which also still allow 256 on BBS itself but only 4 on MMUD
I am changing key each time for MMUD to match obviously -- Is why I feel like it was an initial setup I did wrong perhaps? or a setting I have somewhere that I am missing ?

I did rerun setup for WG each time after hexing the Reg# and putting in the new key (keygen at this point) then keygen a new MMUD key to match the new reg - and ended up still with 4 user MMUD but 256 user BBS

And the updated registration number shows when the bbs is launched?

It would normally be on the sign on screen before you edit it. I thought it shows on the audit trail… maybe. I forget where else.
