2018-03-26) Attention adventurer's of the Realm! An old sage has arrived in the Portal Room, talk to him to learn what he has to offer you. Daily quests have been added, these use direct database injections on cleanup to reset quest flags NO SPECIAL QUEST RESET ITEMS NEEDED!

2018-03-13) BBS has moved to a new domain voidbbs.com (old one still functions as well), website was also remade into an actual terminal. No longer must you click on things but you can also use your keyboard to navigate just like the BBS! BBS Advertisement image has been updated with new ANSI!

It is really meant for MUDOPs however. Everyone gets MAP and GOTO, ELITE merely has REPORTS and LISTS as well and happens the be the class the sysop playing accounts have (i.e. mine).

Well I finally figured out a solution for all of the web stuff I have been working on for some time now!

All characters can now be clicked on, whether in the who's online or top adventurer's list, to get to that characters Hero Sheet. The hero sheet includes the "stat", "inventory" and "spells" game outputs for each character.

Background Info

Getting the DATs from PSQL to MySQL was not as tricky as I thought it would be. Once I was able to do this I merely added some lines into my WGSCLEAN.BAT in order to copy the needed MajorMUD DATs over to the PSQL database folder every night and then run the PHP update script to resync from PSQL -> MySQL.

This allows me to have ingame data displayed on the website that is cache'd from the previous cleanup.

Sadly I cannot figure out how to use the live DATs cause when WGSERV is loaded the files are all locked, so I will settle with this for now. If anyone has any thoughts into this I'm all ears!

P.S. If anyone has any questions on setting up anything similar, feel free to ask!

Website has been revamped (same design basically) with terminal access! No longer are you restricted to using the mouse on the website, you can now use your keyboard just like a terminal!

VOIDBBS is getting a new home hardware-wise and will be down for a few days, possibly a week total. Things were supposed to be sorted on time but something got messed up on my end. Apologies... no data has been lost however and should be back up as normal in a few days.

Hi, VOID is a really great BBS - brings back wonderful memories from when I used to play the game all the time.

VOID BBS is running again in its new location with new hardware (sorry it took so long, I blame life).
BBS has been restored from exact state it was in when it went down.

The VOID BBS website has undergone major updates!

• Balthazar bot is no longer used. Information is pulled direct from BTRIEVE every night at cleanup.
• Users online is pulled from the finger daemon and cross-referenced with the BTRIEVE export.
• New Commands: HERO, ITEM, NPC and QUESTS.
• Updated Commands: TOP

You can now lookup any hero, item or monster/npc in the realm (HERO, ITEM, NPC). These commands support wildcard searching (results are then displayed and can be typed out or clicked on for ease-of-use). Hero sheets show the players stat page, inventory, spells and banks. Item sheets will show item description, stats and where it is sold and/or who drops it. The npc sheet is used to look up NPCs or monsters of the realm, this will also show description and stats along with an attempt at giving you a location. Finally the quest sheet will look up a character and show you their current question completion status according to their current level.

The TOP command has also been updated to retrieve its information from BTRIEVE, all xp/hr calculations are done on a 24 hour basis (ie. it averages from the last 24 hours, in between cleanups). You can also now show top lists for each class by using TOP <class>. Additionally there is now a top wealth list available with TOP WEALTH.
