Flaming Zombies

So, attempting to explore near the Crimson Fortress I ran into a completely packed room of flaming zombies. A level 45 witchunter, level 39 paladin and a level 46 warrior were being overwhelmed. They kept regenerating and torsos and what not kept filling the room. So we ran to get help. Upon returning, we brought along side a level 35 druid, level 35 bard and level 37 mage to help us with room spell casting ability.....

...after both the bard and mage dropped and died and the druid and paladin hung up...I am assuming the 'explosion' when the zombies die actually cause damage? The warrior, witchunter and druid were badly wounded. The scroll back didn't show anything being attacked...just all the zombies and zombie parts in the room dying...along with the bard and druid. :?

Are we correct in assuming the zombies cause damage when they die? And if so, any hints on how to clear that room out now?

You mean room attacks or don't attack them at all?

He means turn attacks off all together. The room is set up to be a noob death trap. Just run through the room, and bash the gate open. The zombies will keep multiplying, and deal decent damage when killed. I'm not sure what BBS you play on, or who you currently party with, but I'm surprised no one had knowledge of this. I'm kind of surprised about the questions you have about a game that hasn't had a new development in over a decade, but I am just glad to see anyone out there still trying to play it. Learn the game on a non edited bbs, then graduate to new edits. Unfortunately, anytime a new edited BBS comes up, no one plays on it, but flock to regular edits. This is why MajorMud continues to die, because the majority of people who play love familiarity, and the same monotonous reset of the same content gets people's dicks harder than some twist to a forgotten game. Some will complain that edited bbses aren't done very well, but those are the same people who shun girl on girl action because it isn't natural and familiar. Either way, rant over, and question answered.

In a way, I am a noob. I used to play quite a bit when it first came out. I remember when Thrag was the biggest monster to kill - and half-ogre bodyguards were to be feared in the slums. I basically wandered away from the game from whatever mod it was that the Adult She-Dragon and Lord of the Hunt were the top monsters in the game. And I think I never made it too far past level 30.

As for who plays where I do? Basically no one does - but I'm ok with that. By using scripts it isn't like people were at the keys a lot anyway, at least to my memory of the game. This time around I actually have a chance to try a lot of the gear - when it finally drops.

So recently I have gotten back into the game and am exploring again. It is too bad that the game basically ended. But such are things. At least there are still places to play. It's kind of nice to 'visit' the game again.

I can't really comment to the edits. Never had much of an interest in them myself. Not sure why, and not sure why I would.

I did get my gear back. One thing I did learn was that at least they like to follow from room to room. So they just evacuated the room as I ran through then was able to pick back up. But thanks for the offer.

Reminds me of the time I attempted to script this room with a Druid... IIRC, I could survive it, but the monster regen was too slow for it to be worthwhile.
