This is not a stock board. There are new potions and a new shop, but the sysop refuses to release a MME export for reasons unknown. Based on the attitudes of multiple playing sysops toward the subject, I suspect there is something that they don't want seen.

It was also improperly reset. I suspected as much by looking at a few shops, but the sysop confirmed the board was played on for a few days before it was opened up. The sysop also got extremely angry when I asked whether the board was reset properly, and the telepath conversation about it abruptly ended with my account being deleted.

Verdict: Just another realm with an out-of-control sysop that will probably be gone in a few months time. Steer clear.

I just wanted to clear some things up about this board. TheFuneralPortrait has blown some things out of proportion. It is true that the realm does have some edits like a potions shop. As far as monsters and limited items goes these have not changed and are just like a stock realm. They may change depending on how many players are constantly in the realm. Also, when this board was first advertised beowulf1016 did say this will be an edited board for higher level stuff but the current items in the realm will stay stock.

One thing to understand about TheFunerlPortrait is when he requests something he expects it right away and thinks he is entitled to it right away as if he was paying for access and his requests should be granted. This board is completely free and will never charge anyone to play. The sysop denied MME export request because there were still edits to be made and would of had to get another export. Instead of having a lot of MME exports it's better and easier to do one when the realm's edits have slowed down. Also, since the edits will be for higher levels and everyone is still under level 25 there isn't a reason to have an MME export for the current realm at the moment. I've explained this to TheFuneralPortrait but he refuses to listen to what anyone else has to say. There is still many things to do on this board and I guarantee there will be some awesome edits that everyone will want to take a look at but yet the edits will continue to be balanced in majormud.

The board was properly reset. I've done much testing with majormuds and implementing fresh realms and I guarantee you this was not improperly reset. Just because people don't see an item in shops doesn't mean it was improperly reset. Things take time to regenerate and items could of already been purchased. Any experienced majormud player would be aware of this. The board was played on a few days but after this few days of playing on for testing purposes the realm was completely and properly reset.

One more thing about TheFuneralPortrait so that you guys can understand why his post is blown out of proportion is that he was nitpicking the whole realm finding anything wrong that he could. He could of easily played there without any issues but the consequences was a result of his actions.

Verdict: A realm with awesome people, great conversation, awesome edits and a lot of fun. Don't miss out on this opportunity and it is completely free. Also, the people there are willing to help out any newbies with cash, quests, and exp.

I don't think so. Blowing things out of proportion is deleting a user for asking if the board was properly reset.

The problem you aren't seeing here is that this is totally unverifiable. Countless sysops on countless boards over the years have cheated for themselves and their friends, so taking your word on what is edited while being denied access to proof would just be ignorant.

Totally false. The explanation you gave to me was that you thought it would be better for people to explore than to give them an export. I explained to you that exploring doesn't give people exact stats on things like your new buff potions, which makes it pretty hard to invest 1.75 runic in them until you have nothing else at all that you need to spend cash on. I also mentioned that pretty much all edited boards release exports, as it is basically the only way to show people what is edited. I also explained that sysops who refuse to release then often times are editing in easter eggs for themselves. The sysop here never said he would release an export at all.

Also false. We had an extensive conversation for almost an hour about MME exports. I guess it's convenient for you to leave that out.

This is odd, because shortly before you deleted my account in the middle of a conversation with you, you admitted that this was the first time you ran a board and could've made mistakes when you reset it. I didn't do anything to embarrass you either, I just asked in gossip if the board had been reset properly. This is basically when you flew off the handle about how I'm nitpicking.

I WAS playing there without any issues. I don't think that asking for a mme export, or asking if the board was reset properly is nitpicking. In fact, you better get used to it if you plan on sticking around.

The fact of the matter is that you felt stupid when I asked you if the reset was done properly. You knew it wasn't, and you didn't want egg on your face in front of the 3 or 4 fanboys that play on your board. When you asked me to telepath you instead of gossip, I figured I'd help save you some embarrassment and do so. That's when you deleted my account mid-conversation.

This board will be gone in a few months, just like every other board with out of control sysops and their fanboys playing it. Stick to the proven edited realms that release exports because they have nothing to hide.

Sysop here, this is not the first run in with said user. Very ignorant and abusive for some reason. Demanded the dats over gossip, with multiply users seeing it. After the third time of being irrational we finally had enough and just banned him. Funny thing is every single user that was live at the time said they would of booted him sooner. Shrug. I don't like banning/booting anyone. I want every person to have a good time. It's what this game over that is 20+ years old is about. I don't ask that you agree with everything. But I would like courtesy and to be treated the way you expect to be treated. As far as the dats are concerned they will obviously be made available when they are needed. Right now the only edit is a new potions store, with 6 potions... yup you guess it one for each stat. the add 10 to each stat for about an hour.. I even gave him and all the users one for free so they could test it and see exactly what they do. Not good enough for him. As with anything in this world, you cant please everyone. The realm will be around as long as people still enjoy the game. Come check it out. You wont be disappointed.

For anyone with half a brain reading this post. The 'antagonist' here, the person saying minormud is a short term crap bbs with an "out of control sysop" please read further:

This guy showed up like 3 or 4 days after the reset. He kept being pushy, rude, and ignorant at the sysop, players, and mudop. No one else in the realm has issues with anyone else. Hell, we just did a 3-gang run on ice queen like 5 minutes ago. Anyhow, pay no attention to the rants of this douche nozzle. He was on the board for literally 48 hours or less, acted like a bafoon, tried to punk out the sysop, and now he is defending himself against a preponderance of the realm's cool people on this practically defunct forum website.

If that doesn't illustrate who is in the wrong, if there is such a thing, I don't know what does. The board, minormud, is perfectly fine. It has fair rules and mature, knowledgeable administrators. This dude can pound sand.

LOL wow this is quite the thread.. I do think the best boards have non-playing sysops though. The temptation to cheat is too great and any suggestion of impropriety really brings things down. Not saying that happened here, or choosing any sides.
