Anyone know whats going on? Too much information contained in those forums to lose it!

Anyone have any information on the status or who runs the forums? Have the ability to contact them? If they need some cash to help pay the hosting bill I would be happy to help just to get all that information back.

I think it's time to just move the info over to this forum. This has been stable for years and I've fully lost faith that MMB will stay up.

I believe Syntax mentioned that he had much or all of the MMB stuff saved. Looks like it's time to go through it and put it up over here.

Agreed, and I know syntax is still around considering I just had a convo with him in a different forum. He has a lot of it saved to google cache. Maybe if we beg him (and maybe shoot him some cash to buy beer/pizza for the project) he'll host what he can here.

I don't have anything saved. And google has mmb cached (some of it), not me. Google made it harder to view cache pages after their redesign, but if you just do a google search and preceed your terms with "site:mmb.forumshq.com" (e.g. http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Am ... rmud+crash ) then it will search. To view a cached page, hover over the result until the little arrow shows up on the right along with the preview. If the preview doesn't show click the arrow. Then usually at the top of that preview will be a "cached" link that you can click on to see the cached copy of the page.

I'm kinda worried, I tried searching google and looking for the cached copies... it seems very few are actually cached on google still... not sure if its based off page views, date, or what... but I can't seem to get any of the old data I had bookmarked just in case.

If anyone is able to get the old forums, please let people know so multiple people can mirror it heh! heck even if its just a readable version where people couldn't logon... this is one time I wish I had crawled and cached the website myself long ago so I could at least make it readable.

Yeah, well shoot. I came here hoping someone would have good news about the mmb forums, Oh well. I am glad there is at least one active website.

I thought mmb went down a couple months back and was put back online. The domain seems to still be registered with no site behind it. Does anyone know who actually owns the data? I am not "hardcore" into mmud anymore, but I would certainly help preserve a piece of my history.

Here's what I have gotten so far....

I believe the owner went by Drizzt
I found a SimpleMachines post related to the MUD HQ forums theme by Drizzt.
After signing in, I looked at the profile to find danbo523@hotmail.com as his email.
I googled this email and also came up with danbo523@centurylink.com and wbocook@yahoo.com
I searched danbo523@hotmail.com via Facebook and found it belongs to Daniel Smith of Beverly Hills, FL
Daniel Smith of Beverly Hills, FL graduated from a Mississippi High School in 2001--likely making him 29.
I found his MSN and AIM accounts, but he never signs in.

I sent emails to each email address and a message on Facebook. Nothing yet.

I'm working on his Social Security number and sexual preference.

Ok, just kidding on the last part. That would just be creepy!

You must not have been around for very long. The admins were XetoX and AdmiralAcid. I have AIM contacts for both of them. I'll keep on eye out for them to sign on.
