seems that regen is not respawning. in the pvp realm. obsidian statue for starters

ran offline recovery, should fix problem...turns out my bloody antivirus quarantined the mmutl so it has not been running. Have them in exception list now too. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make my antivirus stop picking up aspeects of worldgroup and majormud as viruses I would be grateful. I have been manually adding them to exclusion list as it decides something is a virus but short of adding all 1000+ aspects individually I am at a loss. Thanks

what antivirus you runnin that it doing that?????? maybe try a diff antivirus i was using winclam but switched to micorsoft essential security

just using avast...never had a problem with it before. It's very random, i would imagine worldgroup pretty much does the same thing every time it fires up but every couple weeks avast will put a random part of the fire up sequence and go AHA...that must be a virus

well it me alone on board which is no fun
for whatever reason no one wants to play you got 3 options to play and board is empty
might wanna try resetting and maybe cut to 1 realm i dunno
ain't even seen you on lately it's ashame that peeps don't come but it don't help when they see board is empty
up to you what you want to do your board has been nice and stable but cuz no one is on

here is how to reset an edited board so you don't lose edits


[*]execute the C option from the majormud sysop menu
[*]execute the CP option from the majormud sysop menu

[*]shutdown board

[*]backup entire board (always ... just in case)

[*]delete wccuser2.dat, wccgang2.dat, wccbank2.dat, and wccitow2.dat
[*]replace all of those files with their respected .vir files.
so copy wccuser2.vir to wccuser2.dat, wccgang2.vir to wccgang2.dat, etc. Note: if you don't have any .vir files, or need to get fresh ones; Go to your majormud install directory (the one with the setup.exe) and run: "icomp -d wccmmud.z FILENAME" (ex. "icomp -d wccmmud.z wccuser2.vir").

[*]remove all items from all rooms (wccmmutl.exe)
[*]run an offline recovery (wccmmutl.exe)

I was noticing that board is dead. I do know how to do a reset so I guess I will do so. Thanks very much for the info though. Will try and do it tomorrow...not going to put a big heads up since I have little time to do it. Only reason I have not been on is there is no point in me being on since I don't play. If folks did not have such huge issues over playing sysops I would. Think perhaps I will play this time but not on sysop account. If folks get wiggy about it then I won't bother.
