Yeah they said we could pay for a month, would have to call and have them do that though. Do you know the account name it was under? like the /~accountname
Re: Mud HQ Forums
Why does that matter? If they know the account is in tact can't they just reactivate it and tell us the IP to use? We can add a local dns entry for it.Necrosaro420 wrote:Yeah they said we could pay for a month, would have to call and have them do that though. Maybe im confused on something =) They said once a payment is made, without a domain name going directly to it, we could access it directly with the IP address, 174.132.114.66/~ACCOUNTNAME Im really not that great with how all the DNS works etc. That is the IP address for the server. They was able to give me that information. Is that IP address all that is needed? I have the nameservers names as well,
NS1271.HOSTGATOR.COM
NS1272.HOSTGATOR.COM

If you can do it with just the info I have above (ip, nameservers) let me know and I will give them a call and pay for a month
Re: Mud HQ Forums
If you just add a line into your local hosts file under %windir%\system32\drivers\etc pointing www.forumshq.com to the IP address it should work, assuming the IP is right and everything is still working on their end.

Re: Mud HQ Forums
Welp bad news. Called host gator. They could activate it again, was $40 behind. Gave them my credit card #, then asked them before they charged to check to make sure all the files are there. They said it looks like all the files are gone =( Soooooo...looks like we have to start over. I do own forumshq.net, we can use that if you guys want.
Id be more than welcome to give you (Syntax) access to the server information etc. I have uploaded smf 2.0.2 which is what was on the .com You can also view the newest archive (Sadly, Feb 8th, 2011) on archive.org http://web.archive.org/web/201102080715 ... umshq.com/ Not sure if we can get the info we need from there as far as making a rip of it You can get to all the catagories etc though it appears, just not the posts.

There is no reason to reinvent the wheel. Just post the stuff here. Same difference.

It looks like it lost its database. The Waybackmachne is an archive, but has no database that stores the posts or user accounts. Unless, there is a way you are retrieving the posts and have the database locked?
