Old Newhaven?

Post by Rothchild »

Does anyone know the last version of the game that had old Newhaven with the multi level cave? I lost my really old MajorMUD stuff way back. I think it was Mod8 that changed it, so is there a dat viewer for 1.11b and older?

I believe it was in mod 7 or 8 that changed it. The old rooms are still there, you just need to change the room number of the north exit from new haven to add it back in. I changed it back in my realm.

FYI if you change the north exit in room 2152/1 to 2156/1, it will add the area back.

You are a freaking legend! At 2157/1 I can see the Old Mineshaft and follow it down to the Murky Depths where the Cave Bear used to be. I'm having trouble finding the east exit that leads to the 'Smelly Lair'. Old Newhaven seems to be 2157-2170 and 2192-2214.

Most of the rooms in the range seem to be Blank. Here's what I have so far;
2157-2170 Old Newhaven
2182 Park
2189 Halls of the Dead
2190 Newhven Healer
2191 Old Mineshaft connected to Blank
2192-2215 Old Newhaven
2218 Marble Passage

You might have to re-connect the cave bear room back into it for the smelly lair.

From current cave bear you used to be able to go NW or E. 2157 is the old NW branch that goes down to old cave bear. I can't find the old junction or the short dead end to the east. Jiggs Longthorne called it Smelly Lair on his map. I ran;

Code: Select all

SELECT * FROM Rooms WHERE Name LIKE '%smelly%';
I got nothing from map 1. I ran it for each line of description, smelly is rarely used. The word 'dungeon' is only used in the name of 51 rooms in map 1. I was looking for the room names & descriptions for that section, but I fear they may no longer be with us.

The rooms that lead to the Smelly Lair are blank now. They were 2171-2188. Note: 2182 is now a Silvermere room.

Rothchild,

If you're still interested, I edited those rooms back in and uploaded it to the User Addon and MOD section.
