Why is it no longer possible to compile an update file?
Nightmare gives me an error.
I am running pSQL db engine as my Btrieve db engine.
I can't compile a blank update file either?
I am running Nightmare Version 1.6.1.
Please help & Thanks!
Julian
ps My problem is if I do a real time update, such as adding an item to a room, it doesn't appear until after cleanup.

The update file is only picked up at cleanup, or if you run the util in the mud sysop menu. Also the error you get would come in handy to help with the issue.

Ok, so I run Nightmare 1.8.1 and the previous version until I upgraded.BearFather wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 10:01 am The update file is only picked up at cleanup, or if you run the util in the mud sysop menu. Also the error you get would come in handy to help with the issue.
I go to TOOLS -> Compile update file..
I receive a popup in NMR:
ERROR CREATING UPDATE FILE: Invalid Location (11)
GO TO FILE --> SETTINGS AND SET YOUR DEFAULT DAT FILE PATH AND CALL LETTERS.
Shows:
--------------
Directory: c:\wgserv
v1.11p
cc
bottom
nothing else is checked.
I'm running psql btrieve.
Re: wccupda2 FILE & Can't Update file
i think the psql may be part of the issue not sure since i don't use it either the psql is locking the files or has moved the files really have no idea other than the files are being blocked why not try setting up a vm or on a different comp wg and mud without the psql????

Re: wccupda2 FILE & Can't Update file
Yes.
I copied the btrv32 into the nightmare directory and the wgserv directory. Tried installing to a new WGSERV directory, while making the other one WGSERV-ORIG;
Wouldn't work whether the BBS was up or not.
I ended up making a new VM (virtual machine.)
That worked. Rebuilt the DAT files and is all good now. I have an original, blank, WCCSUPDA2.dat file.
Good Luck!
