2nd char for HoG Ranger

I currently have a Dwarf Priest following my Half-Ogre Ranger. I've had this combo before and i know it works well, but I'm thinking of rolling the priest into a Half-Ogre Bard. I've never had a HOG Bard before and i'm wondering if it will be powerful like my ranger. I understand it will probably be a struggle until level 40 or so, but will it pay off in the long run? I know the spells will be a huge bonus. What are your thoughts on this? Should I go with the Bard or just keep the Priest? I'm looking for a pair that can maximize damage, take out bosses together, script well together, overall just kick ass together! (Limited items are unlimited so assume I can get the best gear.)
