ClassicMUD opens Friday, December 30

...nothing fancy, just MUD the way your daddy played it!

ClassicMUD, bbs.classicmud.com, will open for business at 9:30PM EST on Friday, December 30th. The intent is to bring back some of the spirit and feel of the game when most of us played by dial-up on a single board.

Limit 1 character per player, no dupes
Limited items, no sys powers, no GJR
PVP-enabled at +/- 7 levels, death at -30

Please spread the word and let's enjoy the rush of a good, old-fashioned, crazy reset!

For sure!

Always room for tweaking as we go but in general there will be certain principles in place; limit 1 char per player at a time, a moderate pvp range enabled, and the least amount of sys support possible. Items for ongoing consideration include; PVP range, PVP hang penalties, and Lair Mod (not currently installed).

I did not embark on this to create a "PVP" realm specifically, but it seems to go along well with the single-character, old-school niche that I meant to target.

Yeah rules are great so far. I did hear some bitching about liar mod since this is supposed to be classic. But I like the idea of starting the realm, see who joins, then make adjustments.

Lair Mod will not be in at the start; decided to hold off since it can be very cumbersome at low levels, especially if there is a chase (pvp or monster).

I can't play with this

(N)onstop, (Q)uit, or (C)ontinue?

thing at login. Mega doesn't recognize this line as a message and I can't set a response for it.

Couple suggestions... first type ";sl" after your logged in and make sure it says screen length is CONTINUOUS. Second, add a prompt into the login sequence for the BBS in MegaMUD to send "^M" for the (N)onstop message (same section where you have the response for entering your userid and pswd) and you should be all set.
