VOID BBS Changelog

VOID BBS has been restored from backup (about a month after the last reset, there are about 100ish accounts). All MUDs have been reset as there were no working backups.

Balthazar has been restarted and is now tracking data (gossip/top/topgang) on the website. He has moved however, to AfterMUD!
More information on Mod 10: Eternity Awakened can be found here or by selecting NOTES from the main menu on the website.

Reminder: AfterMUD is still in Alpha, while it is the main MUD on this BBS it is very much still a WIP and should be treated as such.
This means development on AfterMUD will once again continue.
Downloads: MME Export, MegaMUD Config/Loops *WIP*

2018-03-14) Website has two new commands that utilize the finger server. Use # to pull up a list of users on the entire BBS and use WGSERV to pull up statistics about the BBS. Alternatively you can click the Worldgroup icon/name or the online count below the terminal, this will issue the commands for you.

2018-03-13) BBS has moved to a new domain (old one still functions as well), website was also remade into an actual terminal. No longer must you click on things but you can also use your keyboard to navigate just like the BBS! BBS Advertisement image has been updated with new ANSI!

2018-02-28) Balthazar has been re-worked to track people by first name and update family names accordingly. This should fix most of the weird issues that use to happen with the top lists tracking the same person multiple times. AfterMUD has been updated to version 0.1f, see the release notes for more information.

2018-02-25) MajorMUD and AfterMUD have been reset!
P.S. I have also started updating the Wiki again...

Merely asking, its really meant for MUDOPs however. Everyone gets MAP and GOTO, ELITE merely has REPORTS and LISTS as well and happens the be the class the sysop playing accounts have (ie. mine).

Well I finally figured out a solution for all of the web stuff I have been working on for some time now!

All characters can now be clicked on, whether in the who's online or top adventurer's list, to get to that characters Hero Sheet. The hero sheet includes the "stat", "inventory" and "spells" game outputs for each character.

Background Info
Getting the DATs from PSQL to MySQL was not as tricky as I thought it would be. Once I was able to do this I merely added some lines into my WGSCLEAN.BAT in order to copy the needed MajorMUD DATs over to the PSQL database folder every night and then run the PHP update script to resync from PSQL -> MySQL.

This allows me to have ingame data displayed on the website that is cache'd from the previous cleanup.

Sadly I cannot figure out how to use the live DATs cause when WGSERV is loaded the files are all locked, so I will settle with this for now. If anyone has any thoughts into this I'm all ears!
P.S. If anyone has any questions on setting up anything similar, feel free to ask!

Website has been revamped (same design basically) with terminal access! No longer are you restricted to using the mouse on the website, you can now use your keyboard just like a terminal!

I also bought a new domain to go along with the BBS,
1) Add in online information from finger server
2) Add search capabilities for heroes and items
3) Allow monster, shop and spell lookup and search
4) Flesh out captures & maps sections
5) AKiRA File Libraries (massive side-project)

VOIDBBS is getting a new home hardware-wise and will be down for a few days, possibly a week total. Things were supposed to be sorted on time but something got messed up on my end. Apologies... no data has been lost however and should be back up as normal in a few days.

Hi, VOID is a really great BBS - brings back wonderful memories from when I used to play the game all the time.
Kudos on building a wonderful home for MajorMud.
Glad to hear new hardware is on its way - any updates on when you will restore the game?
Encourage all to come visit and make an account.
