Availability of previous MajorMUD versions?

Post by MiOw »

Is anybody aware of or in possession of previous versions of MajorMUD? I'm specifically interested in the final pre-Mod 1 release (she-dragon and CoB) as well as the final (beta?) release before the addition of the she-dragon and CoB; the island and cave were it.

Thanks!

I have 1.11i through p. Not sure which specific version you are referring to.

I'm not 100% clear on the versions myself, but as best I can tell from release notes it seems that 1.11i is the earliest "modern" release, meaning that it came out along with mod-9? I'm on the hunt for prior realm editions; before Mod-1 the biggest baddy was the adult "she"-dragon, and before that (in beta?) there was a time when the island (labyrinth) and cave (Thrag) were the most difficult areas.

Thanks!

*dust off memory from the 90's* Version A or B are pre mod 1 I believe, C or D was when they started to add things past lvl 25. Now this is real old memory and so don't take it solid stone. Not too long ago someone posted an FTP that had it.

I found a reddit thread from Sharadon about having "1.0 Beta" on bentoboxbbs.com, but I'm not sure there was ever a 1.0 release? If someone ends up stumbling across it here I'd be all over it, but alas I had no glory doing a few different search parameters; +majormud +version, +beta +download, etc...

Anther shiny gem, found in the bottom of the mud puddle. That first archive "#bbswarez archive" is the one I was referring too. It got one hell of an archive.

Now has anyone tried the DMA server setup on the wiki page? That's the one thing I would fucking love. I can then chain several boards together for door games and mud servers :)
